Many people have a preconceived notion that crowning teeth involves widdling the tooth down to a peg. The need for a tooth to be crowned is necessary when the outer enamel layer of the tooth becomes severely compromised do to decay, or fracture. Another words the enamel layer does not have sufficient integrity to protect the tooth anymore. The tooth’s functioning ability becomes compromised. A crown restores a new enamel protective shell for the tooth. Today crowns can be fabricated to be indistinguishable from real enamel. That is a promise Dr. Schwartz makes to every patient. Before and after photos of crowns for front teeth and back teeth. If you need crowns no longer will you see a black line around the base of the crown. no longer will you see metal showing through.
